Aikaterini Aretaki graduated from the School of Applied Mathematical and Physical Sciences of the National Technical University of Athens. She received her MSc in “Applied Mathematical Sciences” from the Department of Mathematics of the same School of NTUA and also her PhD in Mathematics from NTUA in 2011. Her research interests focus on the fields of Linear and Numerical Linear Algebra and Matrix Analysis including the study of higher rank numerical ranges of matrices and polynomial matrices, preconditioning techniques, the condition number of system matrices emerging from the numerical solution of PDE’s, and bounds for the spectral radius of nonnegative matrices. She worked as a postdoctoral researcher in the H.F.R.I. funded research project and “THALIS” project and she awarded a scholarship from Papakyriakopoulos foundation to conduct postdoctoral research in NTUA. In addition, she served as a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical informatics in the University of Thessaly, while lecturing undergraduate and postgraduate courses of Mathematics at the same Department. She has also taught several courses in Mathematics at the ATEI of Athens, Piraeus, Western Greece and of the Ionian Islands. She has authored nine (9) refereed articles in international journals and nine (9) papers in conference proceedings, while she has participated with presentations in nine (9) international and eight (8) national conferences. She is a reviewer in 4 international journals of her scientific field.
