PEDAGOGICAL AND TEACHING COMPETENCE
The Department has designed a specific curriculum that leads to the certification of pedagogical and didactic adequacy. This program is addressed to:
- Graduates of the Department of Mathematics of the University of Thessaly
- Graduates of other Mathematics Departments.
The specific program was approved by the Provisional Assembly of the Department of Mathematics during its 3rd meeting, held on May 20, 2019 and by the 216th meeting of the Senate of the University of Thessaly, which was held on May 30, 2019.
CERTIFICATION OF DIGITAL SKILLS
Undergraduate students of the Department can attend Informatics courses during their studies, aiming at the acquisition of digital skills, thus, allowing them to receive a digital skills competence certificate upon graduation.
The courses, which lead to digital skills competence, include either theoretical knowledge of Informatics, Programming, Algorithms and Computation, or their application via software for problem solving of Applied and Computational Mathematics and Statistics. In each one of the aforementioned, Computer operation (word, excel or internet processing) is considered basic. The successful attendance of seven (7) semester courses, compulsory and elective, ensures that graduates have acquired digital skills and that are capable to use computers, as well as a variety of Informatics tools and software.
The digital skills competence certification was approved by the 29th meeting of the Provisional Assembly of the Department of Mathematics, held on the 11th of March, 2021, and by the 251st meeting of the Senate of the University of Thessaly, which was held on April 26, 2021.
