Giorgos Kapetanakis obtained his BSc in Mathematics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, his MSc in Pure Mathematics from the University of Creteand his PhD in Mathematics from the University of Crete. His research interests lie in the area of Finite Fields (a.k.a. Galois Fields) and their applications.
As a postdoctoral researcher, he has carried out research in Sabanci University in Istanbul (Turkey) and in Federal University of Santa Catarina in Florianopolis (Brazil). Additionally, as a visitor, he has gained significant teaching experience in the Department of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics at the University of Crete. Since January 2021 he is a faculty member of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Thessaly.
He is the author of 14 articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals, he serves as a reviewer in 14 peer-reviewed international scientific journals and he has given invited or contributed talks in multiple international conferences and seminars.
