Ioannis Rizos has graduated from the Department of Mathematics, University of Patras. He got his MSc diploma on Mathematics Education from University of Athens and in 2018 he got his PhD and was declared a doctor at Mathematics Education from the University of Patras.
He has successfully attended a lot of educational and specialization programmes from the University of Athens on Philosophy of Mathematics and Integration of the ICT in educational practice, from the University of Crete on e-Learning & Blended Learning, and from the University of Ioannina on Learning Disabilities. He has conducted his post-doctoral research at the University of Thessaly, on the topic of the difficulties that undergraduate students face in understanding the concept of real numbers. The present year, he is elaborating his second post-doctoral research at the same University. His scientific interests focus on Mathematics Education, History and Philosophy of Mathematics, integration of Modern Digital Technologies in Mathematics Education and the relationship between Mathematics and Literature. He has taught from 2002 to 2009 at Technological Educational Institute (TEI) of Chalkida, from 2009 to 2019 in private education and since 2019 at the Department of Mathematics, University of Thessaly. He has written and edited books and chapters in books, articles with reviewers for international and national scientific journals and papers for conferences, meetings and seminars about Mathematics. He is a member in a lot of scientific committees at conferences and a reviewer at multiple scientific journals in the field.
